Privacy policy

We take the protection of your personal data seriously at our portal. This policy describes how we process personal data on hockey-live.sk in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (hereinafter referred to as "GDPR") and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data (hereinafter referred to as the "Slovak Data Protection Act").

Data Protection Officer

The controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as this obligation does not apply to its activities.

What data do we process about you?

You provide your personal data voluntarily when registering or editing your profile. We process the following categories of personal data: username, email address, favorite team, language, profile photo, password (hashed), and login information (IP address, User-Agent, last login time).

When commenting, you may optionally provide your name. When sending messages via the contact form, we process your email address and the content of the message.

On what legal basis and for what purpose do we process your data?

We process your personal data on the following legal bases and for the following purposes:

Data subject consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): sending email newsletters and notifications — based on your voluntarily given consent during registration or in profile settings. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): providing portal services (profile management, tipping, Fantasy league, forum, comments) — we process data necessary to fulfil our obligations towards you.

Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): website analytics (Google Analytics), displaying advertisements (Google AdSense, InMobi), spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA) — based on our legitimate interest in improving the portal and its operation.

Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): maintaining records of personal data processing and fulfilling other obligations arising from the law.

Recipients and processors of personal data

We do not sell or provide your personal data to third parties for their own purposes. However, your data may be processed by the following processors for the purposes stated above:

  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) — website analytics
  • Google reCAPTCHA (Google Ireland Limited) — spam protection
  • Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited) — displaying advertisements
  • InMobi CMP (InMobi) — consent management and advertising
  • Sender.net (Sender Sp. z o.o.) — email newsletter delivery

International transfers of personal data

Some processors (Google, InMobi) may transfer personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In such cases, the transfer is carried out on the basis of appropriate safeguards, in particular Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission, or within the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Data retention period

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose of processing:

  • User account: until account deletion upon request
  • Login cookies: 1 year (if "remember me" is enabled)
  • Session: until logout
  • Comments: until deletion upon request
  • Google Analytics data: 26 months (default setting)

Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR and the Slovak Data Protection Act, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) — you have the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data, and if so, to access it
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — you have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — you have the right to request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) — you have the right to request restriction of processing
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) — you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) — you have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR) — if processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal

  • Session cookie — maintains your login during the visit (until logout)

Data deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete your personal data in two ways: (1) directly in your profile under Settings, or (2) by sending a request to redakcia-anti-bot-bit@hockey-live.sk. We will process your request without undue delay, no later than one month.

All changes to the privacy policy will be posted on this page.
